About the Choir
The North Star Boys’ Choir, founded in 2011, is based in Minnesota and rooted in the European boy choir tradition. The choir performs throughout the United States and internationally, with national tours each year and international tours every third year.
Since its founding, the choir has performed widely, earned awards at international competitions, and released multiple recordings.
The program includes several levels of participation, guiding boys from beginning singers to advanced performers, with a focus on both musical excellence and character formation.
Training and Musical Excellence
Under the direction of Francis Stockwell, who studied in England, Germany, and Austria and worked with the Vienna Boys Choir, the choir preserves a rare European vocal training method.
This approach produces the choir’s distinctive sound: brilliant, clear, and rich in tone.
Boys also receive formation in leadership, discipline, and teamwork—preparing them not only for performance and travel, but for life.
This June, the North Star Boys' Choir will spend three weeks performing in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This fundraiser helps make that trip possible, along with summer camps, performances, and the year-round programs that make this organization so special for these young men.
